The amazing journey of Luciana

Luciana came to Platonas Medical Center (PMC) after an aneurysm and a brain bleeding, connected to a tube that helps drain extra cerebrospinal fluid from the brain (VP shunt). She had no strength and power to hold her body and head in a standing position, experiencing general weakness, became deaf and had to use a hearing aid device.

Her rehabilitation process at Platonas Medical Center (PMC) started with strength exercises on the upper and lower limps, with the tilt table and chest physiotherapy. In the following weeks, she managed to hold her body and head in a standing position. After she could do so, we enhanced her program by adding resistance exercises, ergonomic bicycling and light gate.

After four months of intense rehabilitation sessions, Luciana was able to walk with a frame and get out of bed without any help. In the fifth month, she was able to walk freely, was able to return home to her daily activities, and even dance.
