Orthopaedic Surgery

Orthopaedic Surgery at PMC focuses on surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions.

Our orthopaedic surgeons manage disorders affecting the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. This includes degenerative diseases such as arthritis, sports injuries, and traumatic fractures. The team performs minimally invasive arthroscopy for shoulder and knee conditions, total joint replacements of the hip and knee, and fracture repair using internal fixation techniques.

We apply advanced surgical methods to ensure precision, safety, and improved outcomes. A multidisciplinary approach involving physical therapy and rehabilitation supports each patient’s recovery and helps restore mobility.

Key Surgical Procedures

A minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses an arthroscope to diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. In shoulder and knee arthroscopy, small incisions are made to insert the arthroscope and surgical instruments, allowing for the treatment of conditions like torn cartilage or ligaments.

  • Total Knee Replacement (TKR): A surgical procedure in which damaged parts of the knee joint are replaced with artificial components to relieve pain and restore function, commonly due to arthritis or injury.
  • Total Hip Replacement (THR): A procedure where the damaged bone and cartilage of the hip joint are replaced with prosthetic components, aiming to relieve pain and improve mobility in patients with hip joint damage.

Surgical treatment to restore broken bones, which may involve the use of internal fixation devices to stabilise and maintain the proper alignment of the bone during healing.
