If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Websites.
These Terms govern the use of the Websites only. PMC is a private hospital located in Nicosia, Cyprus, providing hospitalisation, surgical, day care, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and related healthcare services.
PMC provides certain services through the General Healthcare System (GHS) and also provides services privately to patients who are not beneficiaries of, or whose particular service is not covered by, the GHS, subject always to the applicable rules, eligibility requirements, contractual arrangements and availability.
Further information concerning PMC and its services is available throughout the Websites.
3. Acceptance and Scope of These Terms
3.1 These Terms apply to all users of the Websites, whether accessing them as a visitor, patient, prospective patient, healthcare professional, representative, carer, family member, journalist, business partner or any other user.
3.2 Certain sections, services or features of the Websites may be subject to additional terms or notices. Where additional terms apply, they will be brought to your attention where reasonably practicable and will apply in addition to these Terms.
3.3 Where there is a conflict between these Terms and a specific contractual agreement entered into between you and PMC in relation to healthcare services, the specific contractual agreement shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.
3.4 Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable law.
4. Purpose and Nature of the Websites
4.1 The Websites are intended primarily to provide general information about PMC, its facilities, services, healthcare professionals and related matters.
4.2 Information published on the Websites is provided for general informational purposes and should not be regarded as:
- a medical diagnosis;
- a medical examination;
- a clinical assessment;
- an individual treatment recommendation;
- a prescription;
- a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional;
- an emergency medical service; or
- a guarantee that a particular treatment, procedure or outcome is appropriate for any individual.
4.3 Information concerning medical conditions, procedures, treatments, surgical techniques, rehabilitation, recovery periods, risks, benefits and expected outcomes is necessarily general in nature. Individual patients may require different investigations, treatments, procedures, recovery periods or follow-up arrangements.
4.4 Medical information may become outdated as medical knowledge, clinical practice, technology, professional guidance and applicable regulations develop. PMC may update, amend or remove website content at any time.
4.5 You should obtain appropriate professional medical advice regarding your individual circumstances before making any decision concerning diagnosis, treatment, surgery, medication, rehabilitation or any other healthcare matter.
5. No Medical Advice or Doctor–Patient Relationship
5.1 Nothing contained on the Websites is intended to establish a doctor–patient relationship, healthcare professional–patient relationship or other clinical relationship merely by virtue of you accessing or using the Websites.
5.2 A clinical relationship may arise only in accordance with applicable law and the relevant arrangements between the patient, PMC and/or the relevant healthcare professional.
5.3 Information contained on a healthcare professional's profile, specialty page, procedure page or other area of the Websites should not be interpreted as a personalised clinical recommendation.
5.4 The inclusion of a healthcare professional on the Websites does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement or representation that a particular healthcare professional is suitable for every patient or every clinical circumstance.
5.5 Patients should discuss their individual medical history, diagnosis, treatment options, risks, benefits and alternatives directly with the appropriate qualified healthcare professional.
6. Emergency Medical Situations
6.1 The Websites are not an emergency medical service and should not be relied upon in an emergency.
6.2 If you believe that you or another person is experiencing a medical emergency, you should immediately contact the appropriate emergency medical services or attend the nearest appropriate emergency medical facility.
6.3 You should not delay seeking urgent medical attention because of information obtained from the Websites.
6.4 Contact forms, emails, online enquiries, social media messages and other electronic communications with PMC should not be used for urgent medical matters.
6.5 PMC does not guarantee that enquiries submitted through the Websites will be reviewed or responded to immediately.
7. Healthcare Professionals and Independent Practitioners
7.1 The Websites may contain information about doctors, surgeons, physiotherapists, nurses, medical professionals and other healthcare professionals who provide services at, through or in association with PMC.
7.2 Depending on the circumstances, a healthcare professional may be employed by PMC, engaged by PMC, affiliated with PMC, or operate independently while using PMC's facilities or services.
7.3 The inclusion of a healthcare professional on the Websites does not necessarily mean that the individual is an employee of PMC.
7.4 Where a healthcare professional operates independently, the professional may have separate contractual, professional, clinical and legal responsibilities to the patient.
7.5 Healthcare professionals are responsible for their own professional clinical decisions, subject to applicable law, professional standards and their contractual relationship with PMC where relevant.
7.6 Patients should seek clarification from PMC or the relevant healthcare professional if they require information concerning the contractual or professional status of a particular practitioner.
8. Healthcare Services and Clinical Decisions
8.1 Accessing information about a healthcare service, surgical procedure, specialty or treatment through the Websites does not mean that the service will necessarily be available to you.
8.2 The availability and suitability of any healthcare service may depend upon, among other matters:
- your medical history;
- clinical assessment;
- diagnostic findings;
- the opinion of the relevant healthcare professional;
- medical indications and contraindications;

- applicable clinical protocols;
- GHS eligibility and coverage, where applicable;
- private insurance arrangements;
- payment arrangements;
- legal and regulatory requirements; and
- other circumstances relevant to your care.
8.3 PMC and/or the relevant healthcare professional reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to determine whether a particular procedure, treatment or service can appropriately be provided.
8.4 Publication of a procedure or treatment on the Websites does not constitute an offer or guarantee that the procedure or treatment will be performed.
9. Medical Tourism
9.1 Certain Websites are specifically intended to provide information to international patients considering travelling to Cyprus for medical or surgical treatment.
9.2 Medical Tourism information may include information regarding:
- surgical specialties;
- treatment and procedure options;
- healthcare professionals;
- the hospital and its facilities;
- indicative treatment pathways;
- expected periods of stay;
- patient coordination;
- accommodation;
- transportation or logistical arrangements;
- recovery and follow-up information; and
- other services relevant to international patients.
9.3 Such information is provided for general guidance and does not constitute a binding offer, quotation, medical recommendation or guarantee of treatment.
9.4 A patient's suitability for treatment must be assessed on an individual basis by the appropriate healthcare professional.
9.5 A preliminary assessment based on information supplied remotely, including medical reports, photographs, scans, imaging or other documentation, may be subject to further clinical assessment following arrival in Cyprus or before treatment.
9.6 PMC may determine, together with the relevant healthcare professional, that a proposed procedure is unsuitable, should be modified, should be postponed or should not proceed.
9.7 Medical treatment may involve risks, complications, changes to the proposed procedure, additional investigations, additional treatment, an extended hospital stay or other circumstances that cannot reasonably be determined before clinical assessment.
9.8 Information concerning estimated recovery periods, length of stay or recommended periods in Cyprus is indicative only and may vary according to individual clinical circumstances.
9.9 Patients travelling to Cyprus for treatment remain responsible for ensuring that they are medically, legally and practically able to travel.
9.10 Patients are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any passport, visa, travel documentation, travel insurance, medical travel insurance or other documentation required for their travel.
9.11 Patients should inform their healthcare professional of any medical condition, medication, allergy, previous treatment, pregnancy, recent procedure or other relevant circumstance that may affect travel or treatment.
10. Travel, Accommodation and Third-Party Services
10.1 The Websites may contain information about accommodation providers, hotels, transportation providers, travel services or other third-party businesses.
10.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, such third-party services are not healthcare services provided by PMC.
10.3 Where accommodation or another service is provided by a third party, that third party remains responsible for the provision of its own services.
10.4 PMC does not guarantee:
- the availability of third-party accommodation;
- room availability or specific room types;
- pricing;
- transport availability;
- travel arrangements;
- flight schedules;
- visa approval;
- cancellation policies of third parties; or
- the quality, suitability or uninterrupted availability of third-party services.
10.5 Patients should review the terms and conditions, cancellation policies, insurance arrangements and other contractual provisions of any third-party service provider before making a booking.
10.6 Any reference to a third-party service provider on the Websites does not necessarily constitute an endorsement or recommendation of that provider.
11. Information, Accuracy and Availability
11.1 PMC takes reasonable steps to ensure that information published on the Websites is accurate and current at the time of publication.
11.2 However, PMC does not warrant that the Websites or their content will always be:
- complete;
- accurate;
- current;
- error-free;
- uninterrupted;
- available at all times; or
- free from viruses or other harmful components.
11.3 Information may change without notice.
11.4 Prices, services, procedures, facilities, healthcare professionals, opening hours, availability, contact details and other information may be amended, suspended or withdrawn.
11.5 Photographs and visual representations of the hospital, facilities, procedures, accommodation or other services are illustrative and may not represent the exact circumstances of an individual patient's treatment or stay.
11.6 Where an approximate, indicative or estimated figure is provided, it should not be interpreted as a binding quotation unless expressly identified as such in writing.
12. Pricing and Financial Information
12.1 Any prices, fees, package information or cost indications published on the Websites are subject to the qualifications stated alongside the relevant information.
12.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, website information concerning prices does not constitute a binding quotation.
12.3 The final cost of healthcare services may depend on the patient's individual clinical requirements and may include additional services, investigations, medicines, devices, implants, professional fees, hospitalisation, complications, additional treatment or other costs.
12.4 Where applicable, patients will be provided with relevant financial information or a quotation before treatment in accordance with PMC's applicable procedures.
12.5 GHS-covered services are subject to the rules and requirements of the GHS and the patient's eligibility and entitlement.
12.6 Private patients and international patients may be subject to different pricing arrangements.
12.7 Insurance coverage is a matter between the patient and the relevant insurer unless PMC has expressly agreed otherwise.
12.8 Patients remain responsible for understanding the scope and limitations of their insurance coverage and for obtaining any required pre-authorisation.
13. Online Enquiries and Contact Forms
13.1 The Websites may provide forms or other mechanisms allowing users to submit enquiries to PMC.
13.2 Submission of an enquiry does not constitute acceptance by PMC of any request for treatment, consultation, surgery, admission or other service.
13.3 PMC may contact you using the contact details supplied in your enquiry for the purpose of responding to your request.
13.4 You are responsible for ensuring that information submitted through an online form is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
13.5 You should not submit unnecessary medical or other sensitive personal information through an online form unless PMC specifically requests it or provides a secure mechanism for doing so.
13.6 Where medical information is required for clinical assessment, PMC may provide separate instructions regarding the appropriate secure method of transmission.
13.7 PMC cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the public internet before it reaches PMC's systems.
14. Privacy and Personal Data
14.1 PMC processes personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable Cyprus legislation.
14.2 Personal data may include information relating to an individual's health. Health data constitutes a specially protected category of personal data under the GDPR and is subject to specific legal requirements.
14.3 PMC's processing of personal data is explained in its Privacy Policy, which should be read together with these Terms.

- the Data Protection Officer;
- international transfers where applicable; and
- procedures for exercising applicable rights.
14.5 Nothing in these Terms limits or replaces any rights you may have under applicable data-protection law.
14.6 Where the Websites contain links to third-party websites, those websites operate under their own privacy policies and data-protection practices. PMC is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
15. Cookies and Similar Technologies
15.1 The Websites may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes including website functionality, security, analytics, performance, preferences and, where applicable, marketing.
15.2 The use of cookies is governed by PMC's applicable Cookies Policy and, where required, the consent mechanisms presented to users.
15.3 Users may be able to manage certain cookie preferences through the relevant cookie-consent mechanism or browser settings.
15.4 Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality or performance of parts of the Websites.

17. Trademarks and Branding
17.1 “Platonas Medical Center”, “PMC” and associated logos and branding are proprietary to PMC or used under appropriate rights.
17.2 Nothing on the Websites grants you a licence or right to use PMC's trademarks, logos, trade names or branding.
17.3 Any unauthorised use of PMC's intellectual property may constitute an infringement of applicable intellectual property rights.
18. Third-Party Websites and External Links
18.1 The Websites may contain links to external websites operated by third parties.
18.2 Such links are provided for convenience or informational purposes.
18.3 PMC does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, accuracy, privacy practices or terms of third-party websites.

18.5 You access third-party websites at your own risk and should review their applicable terms and privacy policies.
19. User-Generated Content and Communications
19.1 Where the Websites or associated PMC platforms permit users to submit content, including reviews, comments, photographs, testimonials or other material (“User Content”), you remain responsible for that content.

19.4 You should not publish personal health information concerning yourself or another individual in a public area of a website.
19.5 Submission of User Content does not create a clinical relationship or guarantee a response from PMC.
20. Medical Testimonials, Images and Results
20.1 Where the Websites contain patient testimonials, case studies, photographs or descriptions of treatment outcomes, these are provided for informational purposes.
20.2 Individual clinical outcomes vary.
20.3 A testimonial or patient experience represents the experience of the person concerned and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that another patient will experience the same result.
20.4 Before-and-after photographs, where used, are illustrative and do not constitute a representation or guarantee of a particular result.
20.5 Any patient image, testimonial or identifiable patient information published by PMC will be used in accordance with applicable consent, privacy and data-protection requirements.

29.1 If any provision of these Terms is determined by a competent court or authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary.

33.4 The European Union consumer framework requires traders to provide consumers with clear information concerning services and contractual arrangements, while EU rules on unfair contractual terms provide protections against terms that create a significant imbalance to the detriment of consumers.
