EDUCATION
Dr Panayiotis Dimitriou studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where he graduated with honours.
He then attended postgraduate studies in research methodology and received a master’s degree in MSc in Medical Research Methodology specializing in Vascular Strokes.
He continued to have a research interest in his specialization and maintained collaborations with Academic Physicians in Cyprus and abroad. He has published several scientific articles in prestigious international scientific journals, in fields of Pathology such as stress hyperglycaemia and vascular strokes and infections.
SPECIALIZATION
Dr Dimitriou specialized in Internal Medicine for one year at the Limassol General Hospital and then for four years at the Nicosia General Hospital gaining experience in managing patients in emergency and inpatient care, as well as in outpatient clinics.
He was then trained for four months in Diabetes at the Diabetes Center of the 2nd Propaedeutic Department of the University Clinic of Internal Medicine, at the Hippocration Hospital of Thessaloniki.
In addition, he went through training in Liver Diseases, Hypertension and Dyslipidaemia, through a series of relevant seminars and success in the examinations of the respective Greek scientific societies.
EXPERIENCE
The main triptych of Dr Dimitriou is the trust in the doctor-patient relationship, the consistency towards the suffering fellow human beings and specialization. Equipped with his scientific training and experience from previous years, he looks forward to long-term quality health services, cultivating a personal relationship with the patient with the main focus on promoting the physical and mental health of his patients.
