Dr Ioanna Michail attended Ambetios Secondary School in Cairo Egypt from where she graduated in 1992. She then attended Cairo University where she received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B. Ch) in 1998. Dr Michail received her master’s degree (M.Sc.) from the same university. Her thesis was on Angiogenesis in Myeloid Leukaemia -The role of hepatocyte growth factor.
Dr Michail specializes in Thrombosis and Haemostasis (Thrombophilia, Bleeding Disorders), Obstetric Haematology (Thrombophilia, Bleeding Tendency) and Haematological Malignancies (Lymphoma, Leukaemia, Multiple Myeloma).
Dr Michail has worked in Cyprus, Egypt, and Greece, and is fluent in Greek, English and Arabic. She is a well-established doctor in the Cypriot market and an active member of the Cyprus Haematology Society.
Dr Michail was House Officer at Cairo University Hospital from March 1999 to February 2000. She was Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine Kasr El Aini Hospital in Cairo from March 2000 to March 2003. In 2003 Dr Michail accepted the position of Assistant lecturer in Internal Medicine Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University Egypt, a position which is held until 2006. In 2005 and for one year Dr Michail was Haematology Resident at the Athens General Hospital “IPPOKRATIO”, Athens, Greece and from 2006 to 2009 Haematology Resident Athens General Hospital Georgios Gennimatas in Athens. From 2010 to 2011 Dr Michail was the Haematologist in the Thalassaemia Unit Athens General Hospital G. Gennimatas, Athens, Greece and from October 2011 to January 2016 at the Ygeia Hospital, Athens.
As of 2016 Dr Michail collaborates with several private Clinics in Cyprus. She is the Haematologist for the American Medical Centre in Nicosia, the Apollonio Private Hospital, the Blue Cross Hospital in Paphos and AIMIS Clinic in Limassol. She is a registered Doctor under the General Health Service.
