EDUCATION
Dr Demetris Savva obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Szeged, Hungary, graduating cum laude. He subsequently completed specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and successfully obtained his specialist qualification through the Greek national board examinations.
Following his medical and specialist surgical education, Dr Savva continued to pursue advanced postgraduate education and international training in reconstructive surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, aesthetic medicine and surgical anatomy.
In 2019, he obtained a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Medicine and Therapeutics from the University of Camerino, Italy, graduating cum laude. His postgraduate training has included further education in contemporary aesthetic medicine and advanced surgical techniques, including training at the Harley Academy in London and the American Association of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery. His academic and clinical development has also included extensive training in human cadaveric anatomy and surgical dissection.
His continued postgraduate education has focused particularly on clinical and surgical facial anatomy, reconstructive surgery, facial rejuvenation, breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.
SPECIALIZATION
Dr Savva specialises in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, with particular expertise in advanced facial surgery, facial rejuvenation, facelift surgery, periocular surgery, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, body contouring and reconstructive procedures.
Throughout his career, he has further developed his surgical expertise through advanced fellowships and focused surgical training with experienced plastic surgeons in Italy and Turkey, particularly in facial rejuvenation, endoscopic facial surgery and advanced operative techniques.
In 2025, he completed advanced fellowship training in Endoscopic Facial Surgery in Turkey under Professor Süleyman Taş. He subsequently joined the faculty of the Taş Academy, contributing to advanced international education and training in facial aesthetic surgery and surgical rejuvenation techniques. His participation as international faculty in the Academy’s advanced endoscopic facelift and rhinoplasty programme is also documented in the Academy’s current faculty programme.
A central element of Dr Savva’s surgical practice is the application of detailed surgical facial anatomy to treatment planning, enabling surgical and minimally invasive procedures to be tailored to each patient’s individual anatomy, tissue characteristics and aesthetic objectives.
He also has a particular clinical and scientific interest in male aesthetics and intimate reconstructive and aesthetic procedures, an area in which he has developed and presented treatment protocols internationally.
His surgical approach is centred on anatomical precision, natural proportions and the integration of reconstructive principles into aesthetic surgery, with emphasis on preserving individual anatomical characteristics and tailoring treatment strategies to each patient.
EXPERIENCE
Since 2016, Dr Savva has been the Founder and Medical Director of Dr AestheticMed in Greece and Cyprus. His current clinical practice includes advanced facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery, periocular procedures, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, body contouring, and individually tailored surgical and minimally invasive treatment strategies.
He has also held clinical responsibilities in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Nicosia General Hospital, where his clinical and scientific work has included reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, body reconstruction and complex plastic surgical procedures. His affiliation with the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Nicosia General Hospital is documented in multiple peer-reviewed publications.
Alongside his surgical practice, Dr Savva holds an academic appointment at the University of Camerino in Italy, where he serves as Contract Professor in Aesthetic Medicine and Therapeutics and in Clinical Anatomy for postgraduate medical education. He also contributes to postgraduate cadaveric dissection and anatomy training for physicians and aesthetic medicine professionals.
His academic activity focuses particularly on clinical and surgical facial anatomy, cadaveric dissection, facelift anatomy, reconstructive surgery and aesthetic medicine. His academic work includes research examining the effectiveness of cadaver-based facial anatomy training in postgraduate aesthetic medicine programmes.
Dr Savva is an international faculty member and invited speaker at major scientific congresses and educational programmes, including IMCAS, AMWC and Kolkhida, where he has participated in various capacities including invited faculty member, chairman, trainer, live demonstrator and workshop educator. His international faculty activity and training roles are documented by IMCAS and other professional organisations.
Following his advanced training in Endoscopic Facial Surgery, he joined the faculty of the Taş Academy, where he contributes to the advanced education of plastic surgeons in contemporary facial aesthetic surgery, facelift surgery and surgical rejuvenation techniques.
Dr Savva serves as an AMWC Awards Jury Member and Innovation Lab Jury Member and as a Board Member of the International Aesthetic Board (IAB).
He is also an APTOS International Trainer, Ellure Global Trainer, Novacutis International Trainer and Bioscience/Hyacorp Trainer, and contributes to advanced surgical, anatomical, cadaveric and clinical training programmes across Europe and the Middle East. His international trainer role with APTOS and his academic background in aesthetic medicine are independently documented by APTOS and IMCAS.

His published surgical research includes work on breast reconstruction following mastectomy using a Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) flap, advanced breast reduction techniques, including modified superomedial pedicle techniques, and reconstructive breast pathology.
His peer-reviewed publications also include research concerning facial anatomy and cadaveric training in aesthetic medicine, as well as the anatomy, management and medico-legal implications of botulinum-induced blepharoptosis.
