EDUCATION

Dr Demetris Ierodiaconou completed his Medical Degree (M.D.) at Hannover Medical University, Germany, graduating in 2009. He pursued specialized training in Anaesthesia at several hospitals across Lower Saxony, Germany, and in 2016 was awarded his specialisation in Anaesthesiology and Emergency Medicine by the Medical Association of Lower Saxony.

In 2020, Dr Ierodiaconou further expanded his qualifications, completing his specialisation in General Medicine at leading medical centres in Hannover.

In Neuroanaesthesia, he has developed specialised expertise in providing anaesthetic care for neurosurgical procedures, such as brain and spinal surgeries. This involves advanced knowledge of neurophysiology, meticulous management of intracranial pressure, and precise anaesthetic techniques to ensure both safety and optimal outcomes during delicate surgeries.

In the field of Obstetric Anaesthesia, Dr Ierodiaconou is skilled in managing anaesthesia for pregnant patients, including labour and caesarean sections. He has extensive experience administering regional anaesthesia, such as epidural and spinal blocks, ensuring pain relief while prioritising the safety of both mother and baby.

Dr Ierodiaconou is also proficient in Regional Anaesthesia, performing techniques like epidural and spinal anaesthesia for both surgical and non-surgical procedures. EXPERIENCE

Since 2022, Dr Ierodiaconou has been working as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist, providing services at several clinics in Nicosia and Larnaca, including Platonas Medical Centre, Aretaieio Hospital, The Surgery Centre, the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, and Simos Kyriakides Surgery Centre.

From 2020 to 2022, he served as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the General Hospital in Larnaca and the German Oncology Centre in Limassol, where he held the position of Director of the Anaesthesiology Department.

Between 2017 and 2020, Dr Ierodiaconou completed his residency in General Medicine at various clinics in Hannover, Germany, providing comprehensive care for acute and chronic medical conditions. During 2017–2018, he underwent extensive training at a leading medical centre for infectiology, focusing on diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis, and Syphilis.

In 2016–2017, he worked as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the Stadthagen General Hospital, Germany, where he gained expertise in managing anaesthesia for high-risk surgeries, critical care in the ICU, and emergency medicine.

From 2010 to 2016, Dr Ierodiaconou completed his residency in Anaesthesiology at Siloah Hospital in Hannover and Stadthagen General Hospital, where he received extensive training in perioperative anaesthesia, pain control, and critical care across various surgical specialties.
