Dr. Barberis attended the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School from 1990 to 1996 and gained his Medical Degree. He is a Certified Cardiologist from the Hellenic Cardiological Society (2005) and the Cyprus Society of Cardiology. He has a Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) from the European Resuscitation Council-ERC and the Cyprus Resuscitation Council, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Heart Failure- Heart Failure Specialist from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the ESC and a Certification in adult Transesophageal Echocardiography from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). In addition, he has a two-year clinical Postgraduate Course in Heart Failure, University Heart Center, University of Zurich (2014-2015).
Dr. Barberis specializes in Heart Failure and Cardiac Imaging. has a specialization in Internal Medicine, Lamia General Hospital, Greece (1999-2001) and a Specialization in Cardiology at the First Department of Cardiology of the University of Athens Medical School, Hippokrateion General Hospital of Athens (2001-2005).
Dr. Barberis did his Rural service in Greece (1996-1998) and then worked as a Doctor at the Tripoli Military Hospital (1998-1999). He has worked at the Lamia General Hospital, Greece, from 1999 to 2001, specializing in Internal Medicine, at the First Department of Cardiology University of Athens Medical School, Hippokrateio General Hospital of Athens (2001 – 2005) specializing in Cardiology. He also attends a Yearly Postgraduate Course in Emergency Prehospital Medicine (2006 – Current) at the National Centre for Emergency Medical Service of Greece.
