EDUCATION

Dr Elias Papasavvas was born in Paphos. He acquired his degree in medicine from the Democritus University of Thrace.

SPECIALIZATION

Dr Papasavvas is a cardiologist, electrophysiologist and arrhythmia specialist.

EXPERIENCE

Upon his return to Cyprus in 2003, he worked at the Paphos General Hospital, until 2004. In June 2005 he joined the Internal Medicine team as a Specialist Registrar at the General Hospital of Nea Ionia, Konstantopoulio. From 2010 to 2011 he was an Honorary Electrophysiology Fellow at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital, NHS Trust.

He collaborated as a Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at the General Hospital of Nicosia and for 3 years he was Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at the “Red Cross” Hospital in Athens.

From January 2012 until 2015 he was an Electrophysiology Fellow at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital (RBHT).

In 2014 he joined the American Centre / American Heart Institute team as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Arrhythmia Specialist.

From 2017 until June 2020, he was a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the General Hospital of Nicosia and Director of the Arrhythmia Department.

From 2015 to the present, he is an Honorary Consultant in Electrophysiology at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital in London, and a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Director of the Arrhythmia Department at the Apollonio Hospital in Nicosia.
